The Olejuru Charity Foundation (OCF) was born out of a deep passion for education, community development, and social impact. It all began in 2021 with an event called “Ugwueke Children Carnival,” organized in celebration of the birth of Prince Donald Ogbu (PDO). This event was not just a moment of joy and festivity but a stepping stone toward something greater.

The Ugwueke Children Carnival was designed to give children an opportunity to have fun while engaging in educational competitions, creative activities, and social interactions. It quickly became evident that many children, especially those from underprivileged backgrounds, lacked access to quality education and basic learning resources. Seeing the enthusiasm of the children and the impact the event had on them, our founder, Ambassador Ogbu Mecnix, alongside his wife, Mrs. Nenprint Jennifer, realized that this initiative needed to be more than just an annual event. It needed to evolve into something sustainable and far-reaching.

With a strong commitment to education and humanitarian work, the Olejuru Charity Foundation was officially registered as a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in 2023. The foundation expanded its mission beyond education to include supporting underprivileged children, providing scholarships, feeding the poor, and conducting medical outreach programs for the elderly and vulnerable communities.

One of the foundation’s most significant milestones has been the establishment of an annual scholarship scheme, which has already benefited over 100 pupils from low-income backgrounds. The foundation ensures that these children receive quality education by covering their tuition, school materials, and other necessary educational support.

Driven by a vision of long-term impact, OCF embarked on an ambitious project—constructing a 1,000-capacity tuition-free school in Ndielu Ugwueke, Ugwueke. This school is being built to provide comprehensive and accessible education for children who would otherwise be unable to afford it. The foundation firmly believes that education is the foundation of a better future, and this initiative will serve as a beacon of hope for generations to come.

Beyond education, Olejuru Charity Foundation has continued to touch lives in various ways, including:

• Organizing food drives to combat hunger in impoverished communities.
• Providing medical outreach programs to ensure better healthcare for the elderly and those in need.
• Empowering communities through skill acquisition programs, mentorship, and youth development initiatives.
